Our Universe is vast. And there is so much about our Universe that we still don’t know. However, thanks to the advent of modern technology, there are many cool facts that we know about the big picture of which we are just a tiny part of!. Here are some fantastic space facts to expand your knowledge just that our ever-expanding Universe:
- Space is completely silent. There is no atmosphere in space. Hence sound has no medium or way to travel.
- The hottest planet in our solar system is Venus. It has an average surface temperature of around 450° c.
- There are more trees on Earth than stars in the milky way. There are about three trillion trees on our planet Earth, and between 100-400 billion stars, approximately, in the galaxy.
- The sunset on Mars appears blue.
- The Sun is considered an average-size star and yet one million earths could fit inside the sun.
- Comets consist of sand, ice and carbon dioxide. They are leftovers from the creation of our solar system about 4.5 billion years ago.
- More than 1,300 earths would fit into Jupiter’s vast sphere.
