In my interaction with students, I have observed that toppers give credit of their success to their teachers and parents and I have also observed that non-achievers blame their bad performance on their parents and teachers, i.e. on anyone except themselves. Your take?

>>   Print and electronic media has made me realise that more than the students, it is the elders, especially our politicians who blame their failures on others. I have also noticed that these people do not think about their failures and drawbacks, and this hinders them from achieving their goal.

Therefore, I can only think and suggest that a person should analyse their failure and its reasons so that such failure can be converted into a success. Therefore, I consider that besides the help of teachers and parents, self-study is also essential to reach the top level. For achieving all India third rank in the 10th class CBSE board examination, I give the whole credit to my school teachers, my parents and also to my classmates who were always ready to solve my problems. I studied throughout the year. All my family members supported and motivated me to study sincerely. Moreover I was motivated and inspired by the statement of the honourable former president of America Mr. Obama who in his election campaign said to the people of America that ‘We Can’. This inspired me to do my best in my studies. I was also inspired by our honourable Prime Minister ‘Mr. Narendra Modi’. In his ‘Man ki Baat’ programme on the radio before the examinations, he said that we should concentrate on our studies and give our exams without any fear.

Good health and well-being is the foundation of a student’s academic and personal success. It ensures that we are effective and efficient. Studies have also confirmed that students with good health tend to have higher grades, better attendance records and fewer discipline problems than students generally. How to take care of your health and well-being?

>>   I am very conscious towards my health. I never prefer junk food as I have read that such food makes the human being lazy. Instead of that, I prefer fresh seasonal fruits which give energy and keep us healthy. I also do some exercise to keep myself fit. I was very strict towards my time-table for sleeping and getting up. This also helps to remain fit.

…we should first have a goal in our mind and thereafter have a time-table to reach that goal and for that preparation of notes and regular study is required.

Can you share some of your preferred study techniques with your juniors and guide them on the path to success?

>> I suggest my juniors that we should first have a goal in our mind and thereafter have a time-table to reach that goal and for that preparation of notes and regular study is required. One should also not have any hesitation while approaching the teachers for clarifying any queries regarding our studies.

A little stress is a good motivator and acts as a driving force, but a lot of stress is harmful and hampers our performance. How do you ensure that stress does not negatively affect you?

>>   I studied regularly throughout the year. Therefore, I never felt so stressed. But then, if sometimes I got stressed on account of some unforeseeable problems, I could defeat stress with the help of my teachers and parents. They were always there to solve my problems.

Some students focus on short-term goals and some focus on long-term goals. But achievers usually have their short-term goals aligned with their long-term goals. Any tips for other students on the same?

>I can say that for achieving a long-term goal, we, the students, should first have short-term goals and complete them. Then we should go ahead for reaching our long-term goal. This can only be done by going step by step to achieve our final goal. It also requires that we should be sincere towards our study and our basic concepts should be clear.

Most students fail to understand the difference between being busy (just doing something) and being productive (doing something important). How do you ensure that you are productive?
>>   I can say that the marks scored in the examination is the only criteria to analyse the student’s productivity in general. So, I can say that the marks scored by the student is the real product of full year’s study. And in order to perform the best, it is essential for each and every student to study regularly. In a way, we can say that the marks scored by a student in the examinations suggest how sincere is the student and how well the basic concept of a particular subject is clear and understood by the student. At last, I can say that for best productivity, regular and effective study is a must.

Our environment heavily influences our productivity. Can you suggest some ways to build an organized environment for studying that ensures proper efficiency?
>>   No doubt, an environment is very essential for the study. As per me, there should not be any noise which disturbs the study either traffic or any other kind of loud sound which creates hindrance in concentrating in the study. Further, there should be a proper space for the student to sit and feel relaxed while studying and also as per me, the teacher should also create such an environment that the student feels a friendly relation with the teacher in the classroom. There should be no fear between the student and the teacher.

Revision is important to ensure that you are able to retain and recall your lessons. How do you ensure a quick and effective brush up before exams?
>>   As per me, a regular and continuous study is essential for a quick and effective revision before the examinations. It hardly matters how many hours you study every day. I think what really matters is how much you are understanding a particular subject. For me, a small mock test/ class test also plays a vital role. Regular practice helps the student to stay in touch with the subject. Moreover, making notes in our own language are also very effective.

… the notes prepared by a student in his own language will never be forgotten and he will definitely perform very well in examinations.

Notes are a student’s most important weapon and winners like you have powerful weapons. Any note-making tips for your juniors?
>>   It is truly said that notes are student’s most important weapons. As per me, this weapon can be easily created when a student studies his lessons and understands the concepts. He can make notes in his own language only after his concepts are clear. As per my experience, the notes prepared by a student in his own language will never be forgotten and he will definitely perform very well in examinations.

We know that we need to eat right, exercise regularly and get adequate sleep to stay healthy. But now, numerous scientific studies have confirmed that happiness is an integral part of well-being. What are the things that make you happy? Any tips for your juniors?
>>   My regular and continuous study makes me happy throughout the year. My queries were solved by my teachers. My parents were also ready to sort out any difficulty. My parent’s education also played a vital role for keeping me happy as my queries were always promptly answered. Their guidance makes me a better person, and hence my parents are a source of happiness for me.

At last, I can suggest that a regular and continuous study is must and needed.
